BACK STORY
In collaboration with WE ACT’s communications team we produced four short videos of the individual honorees. The goal was to interview each of the honorees at their respective places of work and pull from their stories the moments in which their collaboration and involvement with WE ACT as an organization changed the course of their personal and professional lives.
THE RESULTS
The reception culminated in an emotion-packed screening of the four WE ACT for Environmental Justice Honorees at the 2024 Gala.
The short format nature of the videos helped build the audience’s receptivity throughout the evening toward a successful final fundraising ask.
WE ACT for Environmental Justice is a not-for-profit with a mission to build healthy communities by ensuring that people of color and or/low income residents participate meaningfully in the creation of sound and fair environmental health and protection policies and practices.
We teamed up with WE ACT to produce videos that would be screened at the organization’s annual gala, celebrating four Honorees.
CREATIVE APPROACH
We wanted to establish a look and tone that would communicate each honoree’s distinctive role as a change maker on a local and national level. At the same time we wanted to highlight WE ACT as an iconic organization that has been protecting underserved communities for decades. Though in some instances we had minimal time to set up each interview we wanted to create a space in which our interviewees felt comfortable opening up and telling their story. We wanted with each story to paint a picture of the resilient history of the environmental justice movement— how far it has come, and yet how much work still needed to be done.
