NON-PROFIT
The Kaplan Educational Foundation works with and advocates for underserved students by providing financial and academic support, transfer admissions, and advisement. For their annual fundraiser they asked us to produce a short film that would communicate the value of the Foundation’s work as told through the voices of the students it serves and their supporting advisors.
CASE STUDY
BACK STORY
Creative Class 6 collaborated closely with Ido Simonyi and Ken Brown of Kaplan to produce this heartfelt promotional piece used as a fundraiser for an upcoming Gala. Production of the interviews took place over the course of a single day at the Kaplan offices in Manhattan. We interviewed past and present students of the Kaplan Educational Foundation program who talked about the challenges they faced as new college students and all that KEF mentors did to support them and to ensure their academic success.
CREATIVE APPROACH
Our challenge was to effectively and respectfully communicate the vulnerability and raw emotions shared by these students, although we were constrained by filming in a corporate office setting. Our goal was to create a safe space for all the students as they walked us through what had often been trying experiences. We believe we achieved our goal--to communicate the vulnerability and the inner strength of the students of the Kaplan Educational Foundation.
THE RESULTS
A moving 3+ minute promotional video used for a fundraising campaign.
